All things are beautiful...especially these.

I finally had the chance to stop into West Elm yesterday...I spotted these owl plates, along with these quilted pillows. They really are stepping it up lately it almost has an Anthropology feel to it, minus the clothes. But most importantly (and nothing to do with West Elm) framed sheet music? I couldn't resist showing you, it would go perfectly right over this.

Camera. Check.

I need to get my groove back with my camera. Do you carry your camera with you more than not?

This weekend I will have it with me the whole time...Can you tell I'm needing some original content of my own?

Wishing you a beautiful weekend.

Grounds for Sculpture

We celebrated my Moms birthday on Saturday and took her to lunch at Rats restaurant at The Ground For Sculpture. It's amazing and if you live in NJ you need to visit on a warm sunny day.  Unfortunately Saturday was cold and rainy, but we made the best of it.  The first photo was taken outside and it really gives you an idea of what the whole place is like. Really magical.

Imagining Bali

11-12-bali-treehouse-1.jpg

This is what I imagine my bedroom looking like when I travel to Bali one day.

Here are some great recommendations that I found for quick getaways over Easter...although incredibly tempting for us, the next couple months we are swamped so I don't actually see it happening until about July. I suppose the beach will be my close to home vacation for early summer (which I actually don't mind one bit).

Love these prints from design love fest.  Makes me wish I was on the beach people watching...admit it my dears, you do it too:)

So cute...I've never seen these photos before and where I found them didn't have any links...so I think this is Audrey Hepburn...what do you think?  Doesn't she always have the sweetest most inquisitive looks?

Ant colony art..Hugh Hayden

Now, I know what you're thinking...But I'm not suggesting you hang it in you kitchen or dining room, unless you wanted too, but what about in your childs room? I have never seen anything like this, only the basic ant farms..and it's so remarkable to me how ants create this whole world, and we get the pleasure (for once) to sit back, relax and watch.  Hugh Hayden is the designer, you might remember the various pieces that he made out of tennis balls?

I guess since ants do work so hard, we can give them a little props!  Enjoy and thanks to FRAMEicarium.

The name FRAMEicarium stems from the word formicarium: the scientific term for the enclosure of ant colonies. Since, in this design the art-farm is showcased as a framed piece of art or simply placed on a table, the name FRAMEicarium seems fitting.

The frames for the designs come in a vivid spectrum of color schemes coordinated to match the sand, Plexiglas and salvaged frame in each piece.  The Plexiglas used for the viewing box and is inserted into the frame and punctured to allow air and feeding holes.
