weekend again Have a happy one
Friday, November 30, 2012
Everythings kind of coming together, getting stuff done and projects beginning. Is it this time of the year that motivates? Here are our new dining room chairs circa 1950's and I must say they are in really great condition, not even any wobbly legs!
Happy weekend.
Firewood Storage Ideas
Friday, November 30, 2012
Genius. Definitley something that we desperately need. How about you? What's your trick or idea for storing the wood you bring inside? Currently we use a basket and it tends to be a bit messy.

It's Monday at the airport
Monday, November 26, 2012
It's Monday morning and I realized that I didn't blog today, and also realizing that North Carolina was amazing to us this weekend. I've been before since my father lives here but there's always something depressing when you live in NJ, you see and experience somewhere else amazing and then you have the realization that you're about to board to leave it. Have you ever been to Asheville before? Its full of culture, art, amazing people and restaurants. See you again soon NC and see the rest of you tomorrow! xo
Happy Thanksgiving, Friends
Wednesday, November 21, 2012 The holiday fun is beginning tomorrow and I want to wish all of you that celebrate Thanksgiving to have the best day possible. Enjoy all the food, family and laughs ever the next couple days.
I'll be back in full posting happiness next week!
Also, we purchased mid century modern dining room chairs this weekend (finally) and so excited to share them with you on Monday.
Happy Thanksgiving! xo
Thanksgiving Trying to Get through it all with a few pretty pictures.
Monday, November 5, 2012 Mixing modern and mid century. They did it really well in their bathroom. Here is another photo from the house and here is the whole post, I love everything about it!
And...the hurricane. How is everyone? It's my first day back since and we've managed ok. Except for the loss of power for days we are perfect, I would not even think to complain about anything after knowing that so many in our state and NY are hurting, feeling such loss. I have my name on a few lists to volunteer and I really hope they call. In the meantime, I'm collecting things like blankets, food and anything else and bringing all to a shelter I found down the shore.
Here are a couple links if you would like to help:

Everyone that's been affected, you are truly in my prayers.
Have a happy one

As the weather is planned to get rainy and cold over the next few days here on the East Coast, I hope that it finds you happy, warm and loved.
Happy Weekend!

I would add a nice, cozy white couch, in a world that I didn't have big dogs of course!

Interior Design Making candles the white tapestry way
Wednesday, October 24, 2012
When it comes to candles, I can't get enough! When I'm home I always have one burning, changing with the season, it's the little things that bring happiness. I knew that I wanted to try this for a long time now so I bought all the accessories at the craft store including the wax, thermometer, wicks and pour pot. I bought these vintage ceramic holders from the flea market. It was the end of the day and this generous man obviously didn't want to lug them home, so I left with the whole box for $10.
A double boiler makes the wax melt quicker-I didn't have one but I created one with two pots (like you would steam something) and place the puring pot on top, add the wax and let it melt to the perfect temperature. It will range from 125-200 degrees depending on what you'll be pouring your wax into and what size it is (It answers all the questions in the instuctions with the wax). Once it's melted, that's when you can add your favorite essential oil. You want to make sure you do this last so that the scent doesn't burn off with the wax.
Once the wax is perfectly melted with your oils, pour into your jars. Let it sit for 5 minutes before you place the wick in, this allows the wax to set so that the wick doesn't flop over. I used a kitchen spoon to hold up the wick but you can use anything...a chopstick would work perfectly! Remember to put wax paper down on your work surface to avoid any wax sticking on those pretty counters of yours!
Once the wax has hardened, about 2 or 3 hours later, cut the wick and enjoy your candle! I plan on making many more to come!
Also, once the wax is melted down it doesn't give you all that much, 1 lb. of wax just about filled this white ceramic container so if you plan on making a lot of candles you'll need to get lots of wax!
Enjoy!
