Happy New Year from me to you!

new-years-eve-star-headband

A new year is upon us...the memories and experiences from the past year have shaped our lives in ways we may not even realize.

Celebrate, laugh and reflect...thank you for making this a great year for me!

I started reading The Happiness Project and so I've decided to make a list of resolutions for myself...this is what I've come up with (so far).

*Read books that take me out of my comfort zone*

*Sew a blanket*

*Cook more challenging dishes (following recipes...since I really don't like to do this)*

*Be more patient*

*Volunteer at an animal shelter or do something to support the community*

*Go ice skating this winter*

I never make resolutions, but I've been noticing that if I create a list to complete for my life, it feels so great when I follow through with it.  Do you ever feel this way?

Happy New Years friends, be safe and I'll see you next week!

Julie, I just love your resolutions! The biggest thing I try to do with mine is try to make them really obvious and achievable -- that helps me stay on track and know if I'm achieving it. So I usually set aside specific times to do things. Honestly though, my new year really will begin in June, when I finish school and I can move back to NJ and start looking for a real job. I can't wait to start that chapter; I love school, but I'm ready to move on.

I love your list! I try to do this before every season and it does feel so good to follow through with the things on my list. I'm going to try to be more brave with recipes as well. Happy New Year! I hope you have a great trip!

I love your list! It's making me think I should get my act together and do some mental preparation of my own... I definitely want to learn to sew and knit... and read more and blog more and be more patient... Thanks for the inspiration! :)

What a great list! I 'm a fan on the "read something out of your comfort zone" resolution :) I tend to stick to fiction, but maybe an autobiography would be a nice change of pace for once :)

Hi Julie! I love these photos!!! Such moment of happiness! Lets hope all of 2011 will be like that! I am so happy - i just sold 3 garments on my Etsy shop so its a good start for me :)
And one of my promises is to move that a lot more! So lets hope I can organize myself....

What pretty photographs!
I love your resolutions - I don't normally make them either - but yours sound so lovely, I want to come up with my own. Something involving trying my hand at photography outside of my comfort zone perhaps?
I wish you a very happy and wonderful 2011
