Let's get it together

These photographs were taken by David Finato and I first read about him here. I love the modern yet retro feel that these create. 

On another note...I can't wait to show you my closet makeover next week. I spent hours organizing and getting rid of things that I haven't worn in ages. The only way I can explain it is that I feel so light! Do you have any organizing tricks that you use? I highly recommend purchasing something like these or this and up until now I pretty much had everything visually seperated, do you do this too?. I used both in my bathroom closet to seperate lotions, nail polish and first aid supplies.

Loft living

There's really no doubt that living in an open air space, which happens to be a loft isn't a fun thought. Especially for a designer, it gives you plenty of challenges and tons of wall space..sounds nice to me. I love the windows that stretch the length of the wall. There are a few others in the blogging world who have written about their lofts (that I know of) and Bri and Erin come to my mind. Their styles are very different but both have very cleverly made two very lovely spaces. Really gorgeous.

Even though this room is on the modern side, when you see the clothes it sort of brings you to another era, right? Martinis, party line's and maybe a touch of Audrey Hepburn? But now that I look at it again maybe the 80's?

The week went like this....

Shopped at Anthropology

Went into NYC- Photos above I took are of The Dakota and what an absolutely beautiful building it is, gets me everytime but this time I snapped some photos. As I was googling The Dakota, I stumbled upon this blog thats dedicated all to John Lennon. Cool.

And last...Really wishing that I had went to Alt again this year, but there's always next year, right?

I'm sure there are certain ways that your home makes you feel, like the music you listen to while you cook. The way your style may reflect and show up in the way decorate your home. I like the contrast between the two and I think I'm going to start exploring this a little more.  

I just need a name to this column and I'm all set!

Hanging up

For me, the first step to creating a nice wall behind a desk or couch is to find all those little paintings and objects that you have but have never hung them up (you know you have them!) Then, lay them out on the floor using your creative eye to see what looks best. 

Start hanging and then add to them as you start seeing other pieces that you find. This way, you have things that you already love and you don't have to go out searching for newbies. I did that in this room and it's now become one of my favorite rooms in the house.
